Full time 40hrs per week; Mon-Fri 9.30am-6pm, plus out of hours support on a rota basis


Working in conjunction with and supporting both the IT manager and Senior Systems Support Technician this diverse role will provide technical and operational support combined with project management, application development and support skills across the company to a variety of users, stakeholders and suppliers at all levels


Open to new ideas and change initiatives, with the ability to modify the current approach in the face of new demands. Flexible and motivated with the ability to demonstrate initiative and innovation and to complete projects effectively.


Working in conjuction with the Senior System Support Technician:-

  • 2nd line Network and Domain Support (DHCP/DNS, Active Directory).
  • 2nd line maintenance and support of servers and associated software.
  • 1st line configuration, installation, maintenance and support of personal computers, laptops and associated software.
  • 2nd line maintenance and support of data security and recovery procedures.
  • 2nd line maintenance and support TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, wireless networks, cabling/patching, switches, routers and firewalls.
  • 1st line support of voice networks including Skype for Business and mobile communications.
  • 2nd line support of virtual servers (VMware), Citrix, MS Exchange and MS SQL Server.
  • 1st / 2nd line support of remote users.
  • To receive, document and progress user’s system problems and/or requests, liaising with the Senior System Support Technician / IT Manager as appropriate.

Working in conjunction with the IT Manager:-

  • 1st line operational user support of the group’s key Business systems, liaising with external providers as required.
  • Monitoring of electronic data transmissions, liaising with external EDI providers as required.
  • Management of Warehouse Module and Retail systems.
  • To prepare system specifications, testing and implementation plans to acceptable standards to meet corporate needs in liaison with the system users.
  • Provide training, documentation and advice to new and existing users on the operation of hardware, software and operational procedures where appropriate.
  • To prepare program specifications to acceptable standards to meet system and corporate needs.
  • To carry out efficient development, documentation and testing as required, according to system specification.
  • To adopt a pro-active role, whenever possible, in identifying areas of the Company or systems where future development would be of benefit.
  • To ensure the continual availability of computer and network services in order to support live applications to meet corporate needs.
  • To maintain good relationships with Company and Customer personnel at all levels, in providing a high level of customer service.
