OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

To effectively manage the timely receipt of inventory ensuring that accuracy is maintained and completed within the KPI measures. To manage a small team of operatives ensuring that all relevant orders are dispatched in a timely and cost effective manner through managing individual and team performance.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experienced Warehouse Manager who has demonstrable experience of working within a modern thinking distribution centre environment. Will have a hands on approach whilst motivating a team. An individual who has a track record of defining and driving change through similar environments.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Plan and manage the work flow and labour levels for shift ensuring that KPI’s are maintained and that costs are kept to a minimum.
  • Monitor and order all packaging and dispatch materials as required to meet demand.
  • Utilising key reporting - ensure correct labour levels are maintained to match demand (including all seasonal peaks) on despatches for B2B and B2C.
  • Liaise with Distribution Centre Manager on any pending fast-track despatch requirements.
  • Ensure that at peak trading periods, key customers are prioritised as required.
  • Liaise with Customer Services to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Report back to the Distribution Centre Manager on any stock discrepancy issues if despatches cannot be fulfilled.
  • To effectively track and manage productivity of employees.
  • To implement all necessary Health and Safety measures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • To authorise and monitor holiday requests ensuring enough staff depth for operational efficiency.To authorise wage and overtime payments as required.
  • Effectively monitor and manage time keeping and sick payment details as required.
  • To hold ‘Back to Work’ interviews with employees after sick leave.
  • Give induction and training to any FTC or Agency supplied staff to ensure that they have the correct skills and competencies to carry out the required tasks.
  • To contribute and implement as necessary measures from ‘Operational Improvement Projects’ around productivity, training & initiatives for reducing operational costs – all in accordance with the Company Health & Safety Policy.
  • Manage the booking in of deliveries for relevant B2B customers to meet requirements.
  • KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Previous warehouse management experience

    Warehouse E-Commerce experience preferred

    Knowledge of warehouse management systems

    Excellent team management skills

    Excellent communication skills

    Proactive approach to tasks in-hand

    Ability to intercept detailed business reporting and implement the necessary measures to ensure that stock processing and availability are achieved to meet demand

    Work under own initiative and make relevant decisions

    Ability to prioritise workload

    Ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure
