The Daily Mile for children

Get a 360-degree view of a class as they take on The Daily Mile.

Thousands of primary-age children challenge themselves to do 15 minutes of physical activity during every school day. The Daily Mile encourages them to walk, jog or run at their own pace – it’s all about being outside in the fresh air and having fun. See them in action and hear what they have to say in their film A Mile In Our Shoes.

Why we love The Daily Mile, by Cubitt Town Junior School

Three of the school’s children tell us what they enjoy most about doing The Daily Mile.

Being outside with friends

Aphelia, year 3.

“In literacy and maths, you have to sit in a certain place – you can’t always sit next to your friends.

“In The Daily Mile, you can be with whoever you want. You can talk to your friends while you’re running, or walk with them. It’s more fun.”

Happy and focused

Aziz, year 5.

“When we get outside and I have at least five minutes of a run, I feel happy.

“My brain gets cleared so then I get to work faster when I go back to class.”

Poppy, year 3.

“What I love about The Daily Mile is that it keeps you fit and healthy.

“I like doing PE and you learn that you can do it in your house or on a pitch – wherever you want to.”
