Sara Driscoll, Start-Rite’s Head of Buying and Product, has selected some of her favourite boots from our AW20 collection.
What I enjoy most about working for Start-Rite, and what makes us special, is that we design and develop everything in-house. This winter we’ve introduced new colour pops and special materials to brighten little feet. There is also a playful nod to magical creatures, fairy-tale floral and galactic themes, all bringing a sense of fun to children’s feet.
Classic yet stylish, and oh so very Start-Rite, is our CHELSEA boot. This season we have an array of colours, from blackcurrant glitter and berry glitter patents to timeless brown leather and navy leather , made with character leathers. My personal favourite is our new iridescent metallic with starry elastic, as I think its playful, versatile, and stylish. Alternatively, if you are starting to feel a little festive, then our red patent design may catch your eye.
We also have a first walking CHELSEA style available for little feet, which is available in multiple width fittings. Our berry glitter style has a lightweight and flexible sole; leather lining and it's made with soft suede to mould to the shape of the foot. It also has heel and toe bumpers for protection where it's needed most. Keep a look out for our new grey leather style with dinosaurs too, a perfect unisex option.
If you are looking for something a little different to our Chelsea boot, yet still timeless in its styling, then our ECHO boot in navy leather and brown leather may be your preferred choice. It is classically Start-Rite with a modernised feel due to the brogue detailing and character leather. The lace up fastening offers an adjustable fit and the inside zip makes them super easy to get on.
Another style which oozes Start-Rite heritage and looks incredibly cool and comfy, is our WANDER boot. This smooth toe design is simple, fresh and available in khaki green , galactic multi metallic and an earthy tan leather.
A welcome addition to our autumn/winter collection is style STORY, which tells a different tale with each colour. This design is great for active children as it has heel and toe bumpers for added protection, leather lining, plus a padded collar for all-day comfort. The rip-tape fastening makes them easy to get on and off. Story also has a removable insole to help support a customised fit. Dinosaurs or stars - which one is your favourite?
If you’re after more of a contemporary feel, then take a look at our new style FRISBEE. This hi-top trainer/boot has a contrasting white sole with perforations across the top and side. While it looks trendy, it's also super comfortable. Frisbee has some great comfort features, including breathable leather linings, padding collars and a lightweight sole. It’s available in two width fittings and comes in navy and khaki.
Last but not least is our first boot DREAM. Charming yet practical, this style is the perfect choice if your little one is walking but you don’t want them to grow up too fast! The design will support your child as they become more confident walking, as this First Steps profile provides uninhibited movement and has heel and toe protection. Available in a navy patent with delicate flowers. We also have a plain leather version called BURST.
