As we get prepared for back to school, Sara Driscoll, Head of Buying & Product at Start-Rite, shares her favourite school shoes from our AW21 collection.

Starting school is a milestone for both parents and children, so we have a selection of first school shoes across classic and casual products which are all charming yet practical. DESTINY in black patent for example has leather lining for breathability and rip-tape fastening disguised as a flower buckle for easy on/off at school.

If you are looking for more of a contemporary design then EXPLORE in black leather and MYSTERY in black leather are great options within our first school shoe collection. Whilst these products are trendy, they also have comfort features from soft materials and leather linings, to padded interiors and removable footbeds – plus the sole design has been engineered to aid natural movement. Star Jump
Reach for the stars in our STAR JUMP shoes in black patent or black leather, which are new this back to school, along with friend WISH in black patent or black leather- available in four width fittings. It offers toe/heel bumpers and abrasion resistant materials for added protection. It has a rip-tape fastening for easy on/off and a removable footbed for a customised fit. STRIKE also has a subtle football theme with its hexagon sole and strap design, but an exciting feature are the reflective panels for night-time visibility. STRIKE is a good choice for active children.
