Start-Rite Outlet, Peachman Way, Norwich Office


40 hours per week, Saturday to Saturday (weekends are compulsory)

  • Assist Store Manager in achieving all Outlet KPIs
  • Deputise for Store Manager in their absence with respect to all management and health & safety policies
  • To lead the store team in providing excellent customer service
  • To act as a “Brand Ambassador” in marketing the Start-Rite Outlet externally
  • Genuine passion in providing excellent customer service and able to work under pressure at busy times
  • Interest and drive to develop marketing strategies for the Outlet shop
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous priorities
  • A forward thinker who has the creative ability to drive new business and seek potential opportunities for new growth
  • To work as part of the management team in achieving all Outlet KPIs
  • To take full responsibility and accountability for the Outlet in the absence of the Store Manager
  • To demonstrate excellent customer service and to lead the team in ensuring a “customer first” mentality
  • To be a registered key holder, accountable for following all company health & safety and safe working policies
  • To demonstrate and enforce all marketing and store presentation guidelines
  • To ensure all Outlet staff follow roles and responsibilities as per their job descriptions
  • To proactively maximise sales following established “Five Step Selling” model
  • To lead the team in developing comprehensive product knowledge including fitting, construction, materials used and product benefits
  • To manage “Quick Fit” service standards and effectively roster staff accordingly
  • To assist in ensuring the day-to-day housekeeping and maintenance of the store/stock area is to the highest standard
  • To deal fairly and professionally with all customer complaints / queries in accordance with company policy in the Manager’s absence
  • To assist in managing store stock-take
  • To assist in accurate recording of stock entering and leaving the store
  • To ensure the accuracy of end-of-day procedures on the cash register, PDQ and banking as required
  • To develop the Outlet’s “Local Area Marketing” plan and schedule meetings with external stake-holders as needed. Where travel is required, to conduct company business in a safe, professional and timely manner
  • To maintain the highest standards of self-presentation at all times as well as ensuring sales assistants adhere to the agreed staff dress code
  • To carry out any reasonable request by the Manager or member of Head-Office management staff to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the store
  • To manage the staff induction process for new joiners
  • To assist with “on the job” training of all staff when required
  • To review and proactively note any potential Health & Safety risks as they arise
  • To demonstrate a clear understanding of the brand values as well as promoting them internally and externally at all times
  • Retail experience essential, supervisory experience preferred
  • Full, clean driving licence required
  • MSOffice proficiency at an “experienced” level
  • Retail management experience to be continuously developed in the role
  • First Aid and Fire Marshall training to be conducted ASAP
  • External marketing activities will require use of a company vehicle
