What you'll be doing - the overview

This is a varied and exciting role sitting within our Sales department.

Understanding the importance of correctly fitting footwear and how it can impact on children’s foot health and their development.

We are looking for someone to lead our brand training program, with our retail partners, new internal team member’s and end consumers looking for information about all things Start-Rite.

The role can be varied, sometimes in store, sometimes on-line, sometimes at retail and trade show events but always being a brand ambassador and a fountain of knowledge on children’s footwear.

You will have the ability to help improve the sell through of Start-Rite products in store by empowering staff to be confident to fit and measure and understand our product USP’s and benefits.

Create impactful product displays in store and help with visual merchandising and promotional activity and instillations.

You’ll be hardworking, driven and eager, and thrive on the varied and broad ranging tasks in this role.

We need a individual who can integrate into our small but dynamic team and be responsible for owning the brand training experience. Flexibility and adaptability are key for success withing this role.

What you'll be doing - the detail

• Working closely with the Commercial Director and Business Managers to communicate our brand training story and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Manage the seasonal development of our Brand Training material working closely with our marketing team
• Maintain up to date product knowledge by working closely with our product, technical and retail staff on fitting new styles and reporting back on findings
• Coordinate and execute a robust seasonal training plan with our key retail partners, their stores and team members
• Work collaboratively with our Fenwicks concession team in London providing retail experience, brand training and trading support
• Manage individual travel budget and organise all travel and hotel requirements
• Undertake research and customer insight as and when required
• Keep up to date with footwear development information and the understanding of foot health
• Understanding selling and retail techniques and how to positively enrich our consumers brand experience through our retail partners
• Support our own retail, concession sites and retail partners in store at peak periods
• Research and compile detailed seasonal “State of the nation” reports covering retailer store information, competitive set products, POS & display materials found on the high street
• Build key relationships with our customers and their retail teams
• Be comfortable communicating with multi-level retail staff members, store managers and training teams within our varied account base
• Deliver internal presentations at Go to market meetings, highlighting seasonal training plans and feedback from the shop floor
• Some presentations may take place in schools and nursery events so an ability to communicate well with children of all ages is preferable

What you need

• Previous retail experience and a deep understanding of the UK high street
• Experience in an area of Brand Training/workplace training is preferable
• Keen interest in children’s foot health and development.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK. Some international travel may be required from time to time.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a wider team.
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage and deliver on a multiple number of projects simultaneously and on time
• A flexible and openminded approach within a fast-moving environment
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic and confident.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written.
• Strong business and commercial understanding.
• Adaptable with a willingness to learn and a desire to succeed;
• Pro-active, can-do attitude
• As there may be a requirement to attend school/nursery settings the successful candidate must be able to obtain a “clear” DBS check (obtained by the business)
• Due to the nature of fitting children’s shoes there is a requirement to be physically able to transfer from standing to ground level. During peak trading for back to school selling the post holder will be expected to support in the in store selling teams with serving customers.
